The Rink is currently one of two roller rinks in Chicago, both of which are located on the South Side of Chicago. It is one of the three black-owned roller rinks in the immediate and surrounding areas. And it is still pretty hot.

Anyway, if you have ever roller skated on The Rink on Ashland or on 87th Street, be sure to share your story. And send your friends who used to or still do skate with you to the site to leave their stories.

What are your memories of The Rink Fitness Factory?

I had some fun memorys of skating at the Rink on 87th street when it first was popping on Saturday nights at the mid-night rambles! With DJ little John on the1’s & 2’s who is now part of soul106.3 radio station. Also DJ Spank and DJ DMC.
Then…….for what ever reasons….. years later….. Sunday nights from 9:30p-1:30a use to be jumping! With 200+ people in the building! And the music and skaters was on point.

I started skating at the rink when it was on Ashland which was after the closing of Skate City (1234 w. 63rd street). But I didn’t skate there (the rink) that often.
